Hi! Steinberg reference octaves as -1, 0, 1,2,3 etc… I can’t find another system that does this. Does anyone know the origin?
First of all, I believe you can change it in the preferences somewhere.
There were several options and I think the default one (starting with the -1) was called ‘german’, so there you have it 
It’s been a while though, so I could be wrong.
