Odd behaviour in Insert mode

Hello.
I’m using insert mode and it’s behaving in a way I’ve never seen. Instead of pushing or pulling material in the same voice, it looks it’s rotating it. So, if the material I’m pushing forwards is adjacent to a note after it, and I push it by an eight note, this eight note is now before the selection.

I attach a video to show the problem. I’m pressing alt + left/right arrow here.

This is the expected behaviour. You have made a selection and (with insert on) it will move “through” the unselected notes (without destroying anything).

If you want to push everything beyond the insert point then you must insert something (rests or notes or increased duration)!

Oh, TIL! Somehow I thought that moving material would push other notes after it, a bit like how Ripple edit works in some NLE or in Reaper. But this also makes sense, it’s a bit like how Shuffle mode in Pro Tools works.
