Odd quirk

Here is an unexpected issue I recently found. I had flipped the ties in the first measure of a previous instance of the highlighted staff below, and then repeated the measures (the measures from m51 on is the repeated section). But as you can see, the highlighted notes are not re-notated appropriately (while the staff below it, which did not have any manually flipped ties, is correctly consolidated).

After getting some advice in a different thread from @Janus (thanks again), I did untie and retie and that fixed most of this, but the last notes of measure 51 were still split rather than being consolidated into a quarter note. Once I turned off the tie direction in the Properties Panel, the two tied eighth notes were correctly consolidated into a quarter note to match the bass line below it.

But why is it that tied notes, if there is at least one instance where the tie direction is changed, do not consolidate if moved or copied elsewhere on a different beat? Is this an expected behavior? If not, could a change be considered for a future update? Thanks.
