Hello. Dorico up to date. All drivers and OS (Windows 10) up to date. I have an odd issue that just started recently. When I open Dorico and open a project I get what sounds like a dissonant trombone section cluster. I also get this sound when I copy and paste something. Any ideas? This happens when the “activate” button lights up on opening. EDIT: It appears to be just this one project. What could be happening? SECOND EDIT: The only way so far that I am preventing this is turning off the Halion Vsts in “Play”.
It sounds as if you may be hearing a low keyswitch which Dorico is not filtering out because the wrong template has been paired with the MIDI channel of one or more of your instruments.
One can re-apply the Playback Template, on a copy if one is worried about unknown effects on custom instruments.
Thanks, @Derrek . This gets me on the right track but for the life of me I can’t see any keyswitches in the two Halion instances in the project. The problem started when I was using Cubase and Dorico at the same time - Cubase for playback and Dorico for MIDI entry into a score. Turning off the two Halion instances in Dorico solves the audio problem (I really don’t use Dorico for playback anyway). It only happens with certain tracks, and only in this project. I may try the export/re-import the Playback Template but short of that working all I can see is deleting and re-adding the problem players and re-entering the music in their staves.
Well my solution was to export the full score as an xml file then re-import it. The problem is gone. I have no idea what it was but the keyswitch idea is probably the best one.
