Offline licenses for our school keep disappearing

I have an issue with offline licenses at the School I work at.

We have the licence files (smtglic) on the local PC’s

Everytime we run cubase 15, we get “No Licence found” and transferred over to Steinberg Activation Manager, where we can go to the profile icon top right and click “Offline activation” continue - Skip -install - Pick the licence file, the licence get installed and cubase works for awhile… then the cycle repeats?

Anybody seen this behaviour before and know of a cure?

Regards

Bob

Welcome to the forum @r.culverston!

Do students have roaming profiles? Was the license installed for all users? If you haven’t already, enable “all users mode” as described here:

You should then see an option to activate the license for all (local) users of the computer, which you can enable.

One additional comment… if you’re using Windows, student (non-admin) accounts will need read/execute access to the folder %PROGRAMDATA%\Steinberg\Activation Manager.

You can ensure the permissions are correct with a command like this:

icacls "%PROGRAMDATA%\Steinberg" /t /grant:r Everyone:RX

Thanks for this Ben,

I will look further into this today.
