Can anybody tell me how to get the old automation system back (Nuendo 4)

move a fader up - it stays there
move a fader up with an automation point further along - it snaps back down
thats all I want, not a gazillion different modes with locks and stuff the old way was perfect!

but I still have to switch off ‘to end’ if I want normal mode, that means having the automation panel out all the time and switching modes while I’m mixing
My ‘to end’ doesn’t stay on anyway I do a couple of fader moves and it switches off
It would be great to have a mode like the Nuendo 3 / 4 as I explained then I could concentrate more on the song I’m mixing and not switching modes.

Yes, it worked fine for those who only need limited Automation features, for anyone else it was far from good enough.

Try using Virgin Territories. It will work more or less like you want.
At some point just apply “fill gaps” and you are done.
