Does the Omnivocal plugin in Cubase 15 work in languages other than English? Say like in French?
From my research, there’s no option to make it work in another language. And that’s very frustrating.
Japanese is also possible, just so you know… ![]()
Hello,
Unfortunately not!
Just like Vocaloid, from which it originates.
However, Synthesizer V v2 seems to be planning French voices for the first quarter of 2026.
But I would have preferred them to arrive in Omnivocal…
You could in theory do French by manually doing the phonemes, but I suspect it lacks certain phonemes (only a portion of the International Phonetic Alphabet is implemented) necessary for the French language.
Yes, I’ve experienced this many times on Synthesizer.
Unfortunately, even by working on the phonemes, you never achieve a satisfactory result. It doesn’t even produce the same sound as an English-speaking singer singing in French with an English accent.
The only real and effective solution is the development of voices specifically for French. Sadly, this technology comes from Japan, and besides English, it includes Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and even Spanish.
French will undoubtedly be added eventually, but it seems this language wasn’t considered a priority.
For your information, Ace Studio provide now around 18 voices singing in French with very good results and others functionnalities verry interresting ! And very good Implementation in the workflow with Cubase 15 Pro.
