On Mac Can't use Backspace as a key command (unless...)

Mac OS 13.6.5
Cubase 14.0.2

I was trying to make my key command for “Remove Selected Tracks” be the Backspace
It won’t allow me to use Backspace as a key command UNLESS I already have any additional key command in there.

  1. Go to key commands
  2. Try to make a key command “Backspace” in an empty key command slot (one with no key command assignment yet)
RESULT: It doesn’t work. Nothing happens, input box remains blank.
  3. Put in a different key command instead (such as Cmnd+Backspace). This will work.
  4. Finally, now that you already have the Cmnd+Backspace key command, you can use the + button to add a secondary key command. Now you can add Backspace as a key command.

I can assign backspace to a command without problems, also in 14.0.20 but on Windows 11.
What happens if you remove the Cmnd+Backspace after step 4, does the backspace command work as intended?

Thanks for testing it out.
Hmm, might be only a Mac problem. Would love to hear from some Mac users on this issue.
And I tried to remove the Cmnd+Backspace after step 4, but I can’t delete just one key command, I have to delete both. Is that also not your experience?

Just want to update this. The problem still persists, and it really messed up my Key Command custom preset. If I want to have the Delete key be used even in the original way again, I have to go back to the Default Key Command preset and recreate all my custom key commands from scratch.

Same system, same problem. In the end I had to assign a different key just so I can delete anything. Haven’t tried the command backspace method simply because I’m getting used to the new key in my case, the ] key.
