Hi! I’m trying to copy a section of a MIDI part using the Range tool, but when I paste, the MIDI part contains only the “91” change point (see attached screenshots). The “80” change point is outside of the MIDI part.
Does anyone have a suggestion? Does Cubase 13 behave differently? Thanks.
What you refer to as a change point is a MIDI event.
Please let us know the original position of the CC7=80 event and the start and end position of the range.
The main ruler is set to “Bars+Beats”.
The original position of CC7=80 event is 1.3.1.0 (outside of range).
The start of range is 1.4.1.0.
The end of range is 2.4.1.0.
Sorry for not posting the original example. I hope this one makes more sense.
I wouldn’t expect the 80 would ever be copied, regardless of the DAW or version of the DAW. So the answer is no. If you look at the list view it might be clearer why that is so.
Thanks for the details.
it is clear now that you are not describing a technical issue. Rather this is a much deeper question reagrding the general design philosophy of Cubase and how it interprets MIDI and, in consequence, makes it accessible to the users.
Short answer to the question: C13 is the same as C12 in this regard.
Actually, it also might be a technical issue…
See what section of the MIDI part I copied? This section clearly doesn’t include notes beyond the range selection end. However, when I glue the existing MIDI part with the existing one, something strange happens…
