One Halion Voice Randomly stops functioning

I’m working on a Big Band chart and I recently encountered a new (for me) problem. I will be playing a section back and one instrument keeps randomly not playing. When I go to the play tab there is no indication that there is even a signal being received by Dorico. To get that part (Alto 1) to play again I have to toggle the MIDI channel away and back to channel 1 and then it works again for a while. However, On my other computer running Dorico this doesn’t seem to be happening on the same chart. I have no idea what causes it or how to stop it. I have checked and all of the software is current as of today. I’ve also tried changing that instrument to another channel, but the same thing happens. Could this be a Halion Sonic SE bug?

The problem computer is a Macbook Pro running OS 11.6 and the other computer is iMac running the latest Mac OS (I’m not in front of it right now).

So it is always just one instrument that does drop out, right? And it is always the same instrument dropping?
If you open the HALion editor window and in there do invoke the Solo function of the Alto instrument does it then playback without dropping? If it is dropping, at the front of the patch name is a little MIDI indicator, does that flash when MIDI notes come in from Dorico?
And another question: on the HALion Options tab, what does your multi-core set up say, is it switched on and set to what level?

Hi Ulf,

Yes, it’s just one voice and it’s always the same one.

When I open the Halion editor window, that instrument does not show that it’s getting any midi signal when this problem is occurring.

Multicore is set to off.

Hi Xavier, in that case I suspect it is a problem with the project. Would it be possible that you share the project here or send it to u dot stoermer at steinberg dot de in order that we can investigate on it? That would be great, thanks

Thanks, Ulf. I just emailed you the file.

Thanks, I will check tomorrow.
