One Shot Sample Kill

In Cubase 15, testing out the Sampler Control tab. Got a piano sample that’s like a minute long. Tried the one-shot mode, put in a short MIDI note to trigger it and pushed play. It won’t shutup now.

MIDI Reset is supposed to execute an all-note-off command but it doesn’t stop the Sampler Control. The drop down menu doesn’t stop it (MIDI > Reset). The custom hotkey doesn’t stop it. There is supposed to be a MIDI Reset button on the Sampler Control toolbar but it was removed. This sample is going to play to the end come hell or high water.

I’m not seeing a general panic button in Cubase anywhere, which makes me a little nervous.

So where is the kill audio, or panic, or MIDI all-note-off function? How do I kill one-shot samples?

I think the issue is that a one minute long sample isn’t very well suited to be played one-shot (as you’ve discovered). It is better suited for shorter samples.
The whole purpose of one-shots is that they do not respond to Note Off events which is also the reason a MIDI Reset has no effect.

There is a MIDI Reset button in the Sampler Control toolbar and it kills the one-shot note.

Ok I just won’t use one shots for long samples; except that one-shot button is pretty handy to use instead of the drop down menu. And in the slice mode you don’t even get loop options. I’m disappointed there is no global panic available.

That button doesn’t exist on mine.

Are you on C15.0.21 PRO?

Yea. I also have to type more text cause yea is too short.

If I open the sampler in a separate window and drag it out, there it is, my fault.
The MIDI Killswitch button does it, thanks. :raising_hands:

This is how the complete toolbar looks here; it seems not to be editable btw.
