One specific file that always crashes (loads but doesn't activate, rarely saves)

Hi! I’m running on macOS Sequoia, and for some reason, I have one specific file that, with the exception of one time, has not been able to activate, so I can’t use it for playback or MIDI input, but I can still add notes without MIDI. However, when I try to save it, I usually get the rainbow wheel until I inevitably have to force quit. It’s been able to save a few times but it’s getting worse so I think I have to abandon it and restart. My other projects all activate immediately when I open them and they work fine, so I’m not exactly sure what’s wrong with this particular file… I’ve gone through most. of the other posts regarding VSTAudioEngine since I noticed that after force quitting Dorico, VSTAudioEngine would still be in my Activity Monitor, but I’m kind of drawing a blank at this point.

Thank you for your help! I’m not totally sure what diagnostics to upload that would be useful, so please let me know how I can provide more specific info about my issue!

Do Help>Create Diagnostics Report and upload the Dorico Diagnostics.zip that appears on your desktop

It can happens, it is rare but it can happen. To recover your work and save your day, one approach worked for me : create a new projet and import the flows from the corrupted files. This issue in my case was related to a mess in the playback templates. Restarting form a new file with a clean playback template and import just the notes (the flows) makes the trick in my case.

Welcome to the forum, @21ahmedf. If you would like to attach the troublesome project here, or send it to me via a private message, I should be able to repair it for you.
