Hello, I have this problem where one specific plugin is causing Cubase 15 to crash. I try to insert David’s 2Bus plugin, and the mouse cursor spins like it is loading, and then Cubase just closes. No error window or anything. Just closes. I’ve tried multiple things, including: reinstalling the plugin, changing buffer sizes, and disabling ASIO guard. I have Ableton, and it works perfectly fine in there. Also, it happens in completely empty projects in Cubase. If anyone has any idea I would appreciate it. Thank you.
After looking at the plugin’s site, it looks like it’s only VST for Windows but VST3 for Mac only. I believe Cubase 15 only supports VST3 and some VST2s.
I really appreciate the reply man. But I just found the solution maybe a couple minutes ago and it blew my mind. I created a preset in the plugin when I was using it in Ableton a couple days ago, and after so much tinkering I though “Nah, there’s no way it could be this.” I deleted the preset I made, opened Cubase back up, aaaaand yeah…loaded right up…never thought making a preset could cause that issue. Thanks a ton for looking though.
On Windows Cubase allows to use VST3 and VST2 plugins.
On MacOS Cubase has to run in Rosetta mode in order to be able to use VST2 plugins. With MacOS 28 Apple plans to depreciate the Rosetta mode.
Rosetta is for Intel binaries. If a VST2 has been built for ARM architecture, it doesn’t need Rosetta and MacOS will never prompt to install Rosetta if it never runs across an Intel binary.
