Only one channel out

I am trying to resurrect an old (circa 2012) project to repair on of the files. I am using LE4 (since that is what it was done in) on a new machine which is running Win10.

This is the I/O device setup shows output on Line out 3 & 4

When I open up Cubase this is what the setup looks like The output is trying to go to 1 & 4 (Via VST connections under devices). This message can only have 1 embedded scan, so I can’t show this.

OK obvious mismatch there so I change it to 3 & 4

First possible issue, Is there something I must do to keep this setup? Some kind of save operation?

So I load a tune

Low and behold, it’s back to 1 & 4

So I change it again. Both output show up as active on the mixer and the transport bar.

Only now I get nothing. What am I missing?

Been through the getting started documentation. Found nothing there

Thanks in advance,

Hi,

The Output setting is stored in the project, not globally. So if you make the setting before loading a project, it becomes overwritten by the project setting.

Therefore, you have to load the project, change the setting and save the project.

Btw, with LE license (based on the Soft-eLicenser), you are allowed to update to the latest version 15 for free, here.

Thank you.

I guess I should have figured that out, But since I am in recovery mode, I was hesitant to save the project.

I think it is strange that it would have been saved in that weird setup in the 1st place,

This recovery is becoming a hassle. Missing files, VST effects no longer working……
