Dorico 6.2.10 Mac Ventura
Hi
I opened the recent file section today to find
the file I was working on yesterday had gone
- other recent documents.
Can anyone tell me where I am likely to find them. I save as I go.
Many thanks
Patrick

Do you not know where you saved it?
Use Spotlight to search for the file on your disk. .
If it still can’t be found, you should have a backup copy in ~/Documents/Dorico Projects/Backup Files/
(Can’t remember the exact name of the folder, but it’s Backup something.)
Many thanks…
I checked back-ups..not there,…auto- save no joy. (Nothing saved) No sign of unsaved files coming up as a warning from Dorico
I’ve been working from ‘open recent’ so not sure where files are saved. I was hoping I’d find some kind of back-up. My error.
Looks like a long search on the desktop.
Have a cool evening ![]()
Start here:
~/Documents/Dorico Projects/
It’s the default location for saved projects.
Thank you…my daughter, researcher extraordinaire, found it as an auto- save in the bin. Not sure why auto- save’s would go straight to the bin but I will be checking before I delete in future.
A wake-up call to be more stringent with my filing.
Have a great evening.
Patrick
This is why
All files in the AutoSave folder are automatically deleted when you close their corresponding projects and also when you quit Dorico Pro. You can find deleted auto-saved projects in the bin on your computer. Dorico Pro automatically adds “[AutoSave]” to the end of auto-saved project file names so you can identify them.
Important
When Dorico Pro deletes files from the AutoSave folder, this includes any files in the folder, not just auto-saved Dorico projects. Therefore, it is important that you do not manually save anything in the AutoSave folder
Thanks for the info…
