Open repeated section

Hi everybody, I’m new here and I’m a recent Dorico user.
Please, can anybody tell me if it’s possible in Dorico to automatically expand the repeated section without adding new bars and copy/paste everything in it?
Thanks a lot.

I’m confused what you mean by expanding the repeated section without adding bars. Can you explain further?

I have a big section repeated within double bars with dots, but now I need to change and add many things to its second time, to the repeat. The obvious solution is to add the same amount of bars, copy all the section and paste into the empty bars and then work with it, but it will give quite a lot of work, it could be much nicer just to press some magical button.

Yep, I understand, and it would be a great feature. At present that isn’t possible. But in the future, who knows?

I’ve suspected that it was not possible, started to copy already… :man_shrugging:t2:
Thank you very much anyway!

This is actually quite simple.

  1. Make sure the system track is showing (Alt-T) and Insert mode is active (I).
  2. Click the system track at the 1st bar you want to copy and shift-click the last bar. Then click the little box over the last bar (this makes the selection of what you want to copy).
  3. Move your mouse to the start of the bar after your repeat barline and Alt-Click. This inserts everything.
  4. Switch off insert!
  5. Remove the (now redundant) repeat barlines.

Oh, such a pity, it’s too late now, but thank you very much, next time I’ll definitely do this!
