Open Wavelab blank

If this option is checked, shouldn’t Wavelab open blank?

Been doing some maintenance and lost my old preferences on the way - I want WL to start ‘naked’ but even with this option it loads all files from the last session.

That option (yellow fonts in your picture) is to open a file from your computer on right click, using Wavelab. To open empty Wavelab or with Recently used files, the setting is in Startup Assistant.

In Startup Assistant, click on Recent, then on Recently Used Files and then click on Use as Default. If you cannot see recently used files option, click on Show this dialogue on startup as in below picture and launch Wavelab again.

Thanks, but that still doesn’t work.

… and for whatever reason, now it works :wink:

I’ve changed the Specific Folder to what you see in the screenshot:

Before it was set to
D:=== AUDIO UTILITY ====== WAVELAB ==={W}.

Probably some left over path from maintenance work (incl. transfering my complete OS to a new drive and updating from Windows 10 to 11).

I know from the past that Wavelab is a little special in some regards and I never got my head around it completely. Must be years since I had to put work into it as updating from version to version seemed to work perfectly, so no need to rethink too much preference settings for quite a while. Glad, I got it back to my private ‘normal’ :smiley:

This option is when you want to open WaveLab with a specific file. If the WaveLab opens blank, this would be a problem.

Why do you do that?

Hi PG, I do this to keep my drives tidy. Don’t want my C: drive to be filled with all sorts of application data. Maybe a weird tradition of mine from the times when drives used to be pretty small compared to today :sweat_smile:
