I recently upgraded my CPU from an i7 5820k to an i7 6950x and now projects are taking anywhere from 5-10 minutes to open. Before this change, projects would take 1-2 minutes to open.
In every metric, this CPU is miles better than what I had, but has been the bane of my existence when opening projects in Nuendo.
Is there anything I should do to get it back to normal-ish opening times?
We had the same problem a year ago. And found that loading projects takes 5 - 10 minutes when there are network connections to Synology NAS that are switched off (this is a windows bug).
If this is not the case, the next thing I would do is check how fast or slow your hard drive delivers data. Wrong drivers could be to blame after the processor change.
Do you have an other (older 11, 10,…) version of Nuendo installed with Nuendo 12 ?
I had suddenly my template taking long time to open and to close…
I am on Nuendo 12.0.52 and Windows 10
Till now i use to have both Nuendo 11 and 12 installed.
I have just uninstall the Nuendo 11 and deleted the folder Nuendo 11_64 (in the Roaming\Steinberg) and now my template open and close as normal…
Maybe some conflict in the “Roaming” folder …
Thanks, tepa! I did have Nuendo 11’s folder in there so I removed it. I think the load times definitely improved. Need to try out a few more projects!
