Yes : Both these tweaks work. You can fix most things by messing 
with details of the
- font size,
- note spacing
- gaps between systems
- margins
However, none of this should be necessary. Dorico should achieve a page balance on its own, whatever the settings. (I’ve seen the quote from Daniel before.).
I’m just about to begin a period of travelling (like in 90 mins). When I get back I will suggest a layout approach that has no circular problems.
