Special thank you @m.c for steering me in the right direction - I don’t believe I gave you a proper thanks for all your help! With what you showed me by adding those parameters manually, then taking that and changing the order of the parameters in the Remote Control Editor, Cubase has become far more powerful than I ever gave it credit in the past.
I would still like for this to be optimized as discussed in this thread, but at least the functionality is there for now and I can make it work. It’s just harder to use in its current form.
Are you getting any visual feedback when you go past bank 1? (Parameters 9+)
Now I’ve got the MP MIDI it doesn’t really bother me but prior to that I found I just didn’t use it that much because without being able to quickly see what the parameter ya knows 26 or something does, I’m reluctant to just reach out and start turning it.
That’s just it - I don’t have to bank at all so I’m constantly getting feedback at all times. I have 16 encoders (The MIDI Fighter Twister) that can also be pressed and turned for a secondary value, so 32 possible encoders. The way I have it set up at the moment though, is to make only 4 of the encoders have a secondary function when pressed and all the others are set up to be toggle switches.
With this many options, I can control pretty much every plugin I need to control without paging at all. When I switch plugins, the feedback updates instantly.
And how I know which knob to turn is because I customized each plugin to be mapped to the knobs that I want them mapped to, so I know exactly where to reach every time.
Ok I get you now. I’ve learned In the last year that pure amount of pads, knobs (not as much with knobs but still) faders, twisters etc the better. After spending like 9 months trying to get my MK3 to do exactly what I wanted it to do I bought a cheap as alai apc with 64 pads and secondary functions and faders etc for completely seperate reasons too and when I plugged it in I realised that all those problems we immediately solved by the additional buttons I’ve got now. The paging has always been the part I experience as a kind of workaround, it doesn’t feel right to flick to that page do it then flip back scroll flick again, its like we’re missing something
Maybe someone can help me here, but unfortunately while i am able to change the parameter order and setup within the Remote Control Editor for a specific plugin, the settings do not get saved when applying and exiting the editor.
I am on W10, Cubase 13.
