Option to show only 8 inserts slots

I am perfectly fine with using 8 insert slots and I find the new ‘squished’ look does not look good and would like to return to the old look.

Or how about the “elastic” approach that has been long-requested, where you start with only 2 empty slots (ie: 1 pre-fader, 1 post-fader) and as you start adding plugins, the number of slots shown increases so that there is always 1 empty slot available, up to the new maximum of 16 total slots.
