I was curious if there had been any movement with a simplified midi import window.
In my line of work I often get a staggering number of midi tracks that need to be quantized and imported into a notation program. While I appreciate the number of options in Dorico, I sometimes find the smart import to be incredibly cumbersome. For instance, if a Contrabass track is labeled “bass” changing the instrument to the proper field rather than “Bass Guitar” can considerably slow down my workflow, especially if it has to be done multiple times in the space of one project of even within the same score.
Is there a way to make a “dumb” midi import happy, and if not, is this something that could be an option in Dorico 6?
