Options to "Disable and Hide the Source Track" while rendering a selected audio or midi event

For example, once I am confident with the vocal chain, I would "render the audio events with the channel settings embedded on it. Then, I usually “disable the source track” to save some CPU and simply hide it. If I ever need the original source later, I could “enable” the track with all the insert effects on it and tweak it according to my requirement. But, the extra clicks are time consuming if I am working on several backing tracks, doubles, harmonies, etc.

It’s generally a good idea to include as much relevant information as possible in your thread title. I think you should change it to include when you want tracks to be disabled (during “Render Selection”).

Just a recommendation.

Delete source?
I don’t think I would use it…sounds a bit risky.

@Mrhehon The OP asks for an option to disable rendered tracks, not delete them

@MrKoko I can see the benefit of such an option, too. What @MattiasNYC said, the title lacks some important information.

Not “Delete”, just “Disable”, to save CPU.

Hi MrKoko!

I´m not quite sure, if you are aware of the two “render in place modes”?
You have events selected, so you are in the “Render Selection” mode. This would only render the selected events. There could be other events on these tracks (not selected), which you do not render in place , so I´m not sure it would make sense to disable the whole tracks in this scenario?

If no events are selected you would use the “Render Tracks” mode. This mode does offer an “disable tracks” and even “remove tracks” option:

Well spotted @wolfger !

Thanks for the suggestion! I have updated the title.

I had no idea about this until now! Embarrassing  ! Big thanks!

Oops
My mistake.
I thought you could disable.

You might want to mark @wolfger 's post as solution

Done!
