Frame Breaks in Engrave mode.
You can even use Make Into Frame with the first and last notes you want on the first page to get exactly what you want.
But then you may have to adjust spacing and vertical spacing in Layout mode to make that look as you expect.
Alternatively change your Layout Settings for that layout gradually - until the 5th flow spills over to the second page.
Things to change:
page setup - paper size and margins
rastral size
note spacing
inter system gaps
Thanks for the replies.
I couldn’t do it. I apologize, but I have been using Dorico for a very short time and I am still not familiar with this software.
Could you kindly give me an example screenshot with the procedures to carry out?
Thank you
If you post your Dorico file here, someone could help you specifically instead of guessing. No one I know has ever complained that a file posted here has been misused, and I’ve read almost every post here since 2016.
Firstly, go to Engrave Mode. Remove all Page Overrides (the page icons with a red triangle).
Alternatively you can do “Reset Layout”.
Now open the Layout Options. You might move the resulting window slightly so you can peek onto your layout. Make sure, you have selected the layout you want to adjust.
Now just change values, as described above, click Apply to see the result.
To start and see how it works, change the rastral, Apply and observe the effect. Etc. for all other settings as described above.
That way Dorico will do the Layouting for you.
Don’t shift systems manually.
Yes, I have set this function Allow on existing page
It’s difficult to answer your question directly without seeing the file you’re working with. We don’t know what size your flows are, whether there are multi instrument staves, what the page dimensions / template settings / layout options etc. are. We could assume but we’d just be guessing and probably give you irrelevant or even wrong advice.
As Derek said (post #5) , if you post your file here, it would take an experienced user just a few minutes to sort it out for you and tell you precisely what needed to be done. In other words, give you the exact answer you’re looking for so that in future you’d know what to do.
If you want to compare the file you’re working with to one that does what you want, this is a Dorico Project File with 7 flows - 4 on the first page, 3 on the second.

Also note the use of a Frame Break on the second page. Frame Breaks are very useful when trying to control the numbers of systems across a number of pages.
