There are issues with the optical out. I’d hold off a bit if you use it.

I might have missed some important information, but is there actually any reason to upgrade to 10.6.8 from 10.6.7? I’ve been browsing apples web pages and I haven’t really found any good reason to upgrade. I mean is there improvement in performance? Better internet security? Or is it just an update to make you’re computer more like Ipad?

There are always some security fixes in point updates (also in 10.6.8) and some general bugfixes, so if you use your Mac also for Internet or general activities I would recommend the update.

If however you use your computer strictly for audio then I guess this time there’s no compelling reason to update.
