Given the circumstances— I’ve joined the forum exactly two years ago — has there ever been a forum meetup? I’d really like to meet some members and developers in person.
Of course, finding a suitable meeting place isn’t easy, but since Steinberg is based in Hamburg and the development team is in London, either location would be a good starting point (at least for the Europeans).
What do you think?
Both of those locations are a bit of a trek for me, but if anyone wanted to organize a hang in NYC, let me know!
Distance is in the mind.
There are regular forum members from all parts of the globe. Meeting here is sufficient.
There is absolutely no comparison between online forums and face-to-face. Meeting someone in person completely transforms your view of them.
When we exchanged real conversation for online, we lost something profound.
An easy suggestion is Mid-West, since a lot of people make that trek for various reasons. I haven’t been in a very long time, but I’d go for a meet up.
I think Australia is the fairest out-of-the-way place for the majority of users. I’ll even let you choose the city.

Yes, maybe we should start off with Zoom. I don’t want to take things too fast - I’ve had my heart broken before.
Amsterdam: half way between London and Hamburg, and a simple bike ride for me?…
Not the same, of course, but also having an online video meet-up option would be very interesting. Nothing beats in-person for depth of connection, but at least faces and voices go quite a ways…

I had to google that. We music engravers are weird but not that weird.
So did I. Darn — now we’ll have to choose animals before we meet. 
Any thoughts on a geographical range we’d want to target time-wise?
I mean, Eastern Standard Time is probably statistically the most represented, but who knows.
So we could suggest an Americas-targeted time for a session that could catch at least some of us in this hemisphere in an evening…? I personally could .also join an afternoon session that could overlap with Europe, et al., but maybe that’s too unwieldy to try first…?

On the whole, I think the question “If I were an animal, what would I be?” is by several orders of magnitude more relatable to most people than “Should this lyric extender line be slightly adjusted?”
I suppose the question is actually: Would Europeans prefer afternoon or evening; and would New Worlders prefer morning or afternoon?
