Hello everyone,
After two years with Dorico, I’d like to completely overhaul my preferences. I’ve created project templates, a library, page sets, and many custom paragraph styles (without overwriting the defaults). However, due to my inexperience, things got messy—too many styles, duplicated libraries, misplaced files and libraries, etc. Now, I’m ready to start fresh in a cleaner, smarter way.
I have two years of scores built on these preferences. I’m okay with updates rippling through them, but I worry about losing work and or managing the software in the wrong way. Here’s my questions:
-
What’s the most efficient way to rebuild my libraries and make the transition as painless as possible?
-
If I later refine my engraving style (e.g., learn a better approach to beams or spacing etc.), how should I manage libraries to update scores without destroying them?
-
Where’s the ideal place to save .doricolib files?
Thanks in advance for your advice!
