I have previously asked such things (e.g., here).
This time I want to find the source of a tune that is attributed in a Latvian hymnal to E. A. Warren. The oldest version of the tune I’m aware of is in a 1926 hymnal. However, the hymnary.org person page for E. A. Warren does not even have even one tune attributed to him. Since the lyrics are about baptism, I looked through the texts that are attributed to him to see if anything rang a bell.
I would expect that an English hymn about baptism would likely have been published (likely in a Baptist hymnal) in the 1800s (or maybe early 1900s) and made its way to Latvia and was adapted for use there. However, even my searches for such a hymn have yielded no results.
I’m attaching the Dorico file.
Thanks to anyone who might have both hymnology and sleuthing skills (or encyclopedic knowledge of hymn tunes)!
