Output Instrument track MIDI to MIDI track without enable record

Hi,

I’m trying to make an instrument track send it’s MIDI to VEPRO. The instrument track contains a delay compensator which is needed to get legato instruments perfectly on time, as it corrects the difference of the timings for the start note and legato transition.

What I’m currently doing is having the instrument track, then a MIDI track that has the instrument as MIDI input. This doesn’t work however, because it requires that the MIDI track has record enable on permanently, which means in a big project that needs have many copies of this setup (100s) one must turn them all off when using record and then turn everything back on each time, which is not feasable.

Is there a way around sending the MIDI from the instrument channel over to VEPRO?

Hi,

You can set the delay on the Expression Map side (per articulation). The parameters is named Attack Comp. (Notes are sent out earlier to compensate for slow attack time).

Thanks, though not exactly what I need. The plugin mentioned makes up for different speeds of legato based on different velocities. The start note is differently timed than the legato (overlapped) note, and in the case of Cinematic studio strings, the legatos have 3 different legato timings based on velocity. From my understanding the attack comp only does a general delay without any consideration to start note or overlapping notes.
