I used loopback to record a song into Cubase from iTunes. While listening to the input, it had a healthy level But on playback in Cubase, I have to raise my SSL interface quite a bit to hear the same level on playback. Using YouLean am seeing very low levels (LUFS) as well. Any ideas? Thanks much….
iTunes normalizes at -16LUFs. What you’re seeing is correct. If it sounds louder it is from the hardware.
Hmmm….hardware (SSL 360 software) is set at 0, so not hyped. Somehow while dubbing it is NOTICEABLY louder coming into CB….
As you have Youlean on the input channel what you see should be exactly what you are inputting to Cubase. (or not quite as you don’t have that fader at unity)
If you play the recording outside of Cubase with iTunes does it sound quiet like in Cubase or loud like the iTunes original?
