Output selector no longer remembers last selection when creating tracks

Hello,

I’d like to point out a change (or possible bug) in the behavior when creating new tracks.

Previously, when opening the “Add Track” window, the Output Routing field would remember the last selected output. This was especially useful when working with buses like a Mixbus, as it allowed maintaining workflow without having to manually reassign each track.

Currently, every time a new track is created, the output defaults back to “Stereo Out”, ignoring the last selection used.

This significantly affects efficiency when working with multiple buses or more complex mixing setups, as it forces repeating the same adjustment constantly.

Is this an intentional change in recent versions, or is it a bug?
Is there any preference or setting to restore the previous behavior?

Can you add the info in which version you noticed the change and which was the last version you used where the old behavior was still in place?

Not the OP, but I noticed this sort of thing (but see caveat below) in 15.0.10 (haven’t done anything like this in 15.0.20 yet). I don’t recall seeing it before 15.0.10, but it is conceivable I just didn’t notice (or that the caveat applied).

Here’s the caveat: It wasn’t a 100% thing. I absolutely noticed this a number of times and found it frustrating, but then there were other times where it was seeming to work the way it usually did. And, being up against a deadline, I didn’t have time to consider what might be different between when it worked as it always seemed to and when it seemed to just keep using the Stereo Out despite recent assignments. It is conceivable, for example, that it may have happened with one type of new track but not others (e.g. instrument track versus group track versus FX track).

It always worked for me in version 14, but it stopped working after I updated to version 15, and it hasn’t been fixed in the latest version either.

In version 14, it always kept the last selected output, regardless of the track type. Since upgrading to version 15, it always stays on Stereo Out, even when testing the latest version.
