Hi. I am trying to overlay two waveforms and then free warp on of them to align the timing. I know this is possible because there is a video about it here: Tighten Up Your Tracks Like A Pro | Cubase Secrets with Dom
I can get two audio tracks to overlay, but any edits apply to both of them. If I try to deselect one, the overlay is no longer visible.
How can I work edit one track while keeping the overlay view?
Are you sure you are working on two different audio files? Two events can refer to the same clip that can refer to the same audio file.
It is two different audio files. If you click one, then hold control while clicking another, it opens in overlay view. In the sample editor window you can chose which one is in front, which is supposed to be the active track. I was expecting to warp the active track while using the one behind it as a guide, but they both change.
