Ran into a new problem.
Reviewing some piano / vocal parts for a show I’m working on. Because it’s theater, there can be many text frames on the page to accomodate dialog blocks during vamps. The pianist tells me that some of the page turns are difficult, but if the layout was “first page left” instead of “first page right”, it would be much easier. So I add a title page to force “first page left”. Fortunately, adding a page at the start of the layout does not scramble the page overrides. They stay where I would hope they would. That is, until I look at the headers and notice that the page numbers are no longer on the outside edge for the overridden pages.
Yes, of course, this makes technical sense. These pages are locked and don’t reload the template when their hand-ness changes, so the position of the page numbers stay where they were before I added the title page. But now I have to either live with these page number anomolies or redo the engraving for every song that this would effect.
If there’s a way to deal with this easily, please let me know. Otherwise, I would like to suggest some sort of future enhancement to this system to deal with this. Maybe designating elements on a page that are not locked by over riding. Or maybe have the page divided into headers, footers and content so that over rides on the content don’t necessarily lock the headers and footers.
