Hello,
I want all my pages for a rhythmic lesson to be the same. Although I have set staves and systems to 4 measures per system and 6 systems per frame, i have had to manually adjust distances between staves.
How do I get all layouts to look like this as I add pages?
I want all pages formatted like the left. Do I have to do that manually or will setting the master page make adjustments automatic?
Page Templates control Frames - not the music inside them.
You could try adjusting your Vertical Justification settings in Layout Options. This way, the staves could fill the page with no music in them.
I already tried that. I have rastral size set to 4. Bars are set to 4 and systemes are set to six per frame.
So, in the above example, why is page 4 formatting differently?
In the above examples, page four seems to be what Dorico does automatically. It does not distribute staves equally or evenly on the page; it distributes the six stave evenly but toward the top. I take it that is the Dorico doing what I ask in settings. My question is, once I set staves and systems in a frame, can that be duplicated so that I don’t have to go in manually for each page?
This isn’t adjusting the Vertical Justification.
Can you attach your project?

The first page contains the spacing I want. I set that manually. Is there a way to set the staves/systems globally once you have tweaked them for a particular project? And make templates? Thanks for the quick responses. Edit: (As you see on the fourth page, vertical justification does nothing. I can’t figure out why the first three pages are similar and the fourth deviates).
This is with no Staff Spacing adjustments whatsoever:
Only the percentage of
Justify distance only between systems when frame is at least set to 50%.
The reason I chose 50% is because you’re empty page 4 has a fullness indicator (green % at bottom-left of page) of 54.7%.
You can copy staff spacing via:

Thank you so much. Although there are some things that Finale could do that Dorico has not yet addressed, I am very happy with this program. And the forum and community make it an incredibly useful investment. Thanks again.
