The top page margin is already set to 0, and the music frame is at the top of the page. Is there a way to move the staves closer to the top of the page? This is the second page for the individual part. The red arrow is the direction I’m wanting the staves to move. Also, the first page for the individual parts is exactly how I want it to be. I’m only wanting to change the distance for the second page and onward please and thank you! As always, thanks for the help!
Try to change Music frame top margin. You find it in layout options.
In my post I said the top margin is already at 0 and the music frame is already at 0.
Hi @35TCB77,
No, you said:
There is a difference between this two situations:
- the upper edge of the blue Music Frame, which exists in the Default Page Template, is touching the upper Page Marging, (as you seem to say with your first post)
or
- the Music Frame Top Margin is set to 0 (in Layout options), (which you seem to say in your second post and is what happens in your example).
So to obtain what you want you probably need to edit your Defaul Page Template.
To give precise advice it would be helpful if you could upload your Dorico file.
I’m currently editing the file. It’s a template.
What @Christian_R meant is that these are two different measurements. You’re talking about the position of the top of the frame. There’s also a setting in Layout Options for the margin inside the frame, between the top of the frame and the music.
Edit: Sorry, @Christian_R explains this better than I did
If I do that, that’s going to effect the first page, though, right? If so, I don’t want that please.
No, you would edit the Default Page template: that is: from the second page onwards.
I’ve already edited the page templates.
So the suggestion to create a dedicated Page template, where your Music Frame hast a Top Padding set to 0, would give you what you need (this substitutes the Music Frame Margin), and you can assign this applying a Page Template Change :
But this actually is not necessary: you can draw your Music Frame Margins as desired for the First page Template and for the Default Page Template.
Please provide a Dorico file example, telling us what you want to achieve with it.
Thanks so much! That worked! One other quick question. Is there a way to have the second flow and onward to look exactly like flow 1? I’m wanting flows 2 and onward to basically be a “clone” of flow 1. Despite me having the setting “Use ‘First’ page template” set to any flow starting at the top of the page, flow 2 is not a “clone” of flow 1. I’m wanting to keep all of my marching band shows into one file please. What I want is to be able to click on new flow in setup mode and Dorico “clones” flow 1’s layout (which I’ve already made edits to via page templates) without any music.
This is another topic: please create a new Topic with his question, to keep the threads clear.
And please upload a Dorico file example: this makes easier for us to help, because we can see at a glance what your current settings are.
