After copying the layout from the right master page to the left page, both pages now show the page number on the right side, which of course isn’t correct. Is there an easy way to create the page numbers on both page on the outer edge of the pages? I could not find help for this in the inspector or the Master Page editor.
One way would be to make the text frame fit the width of the page, and use text alignment to place the text left/right.

In fact the ‘Page number’ paragraph style has inside/outside alignment so it should work automatically if the text frame reaches the appropriate corner of the page.
