Page or Flow Templates

Hello, my first message, greetings to everyone…
Actually, I’m solving it manually, but there’s still something I’d like to get some ideas on.
For a project with multiple different songs, is it more logical to use a page template or a flow template?

Welcome to the forum @Kursat

In practice the page template is a subset of the flow/project template.

My thoughts:

• If you have a score with many different ensembles but the same page layout (title page, impressum, etc.) then a page template could be suitable.

• Otherwise – even having three or four different instruments which could be en-/disabled in the flow – I would prefer a project template.

What is a flow template?

I suspect the OP was referring to the Flow Headings templates

I took it as project template.

Actually I meant to say default full score or default part. Translation error. Sorry.

Ok. So to answer your question, Full score layout and part layout are two different things that are aimed at different people (usually), unless there is only one instrument (or two, for a vocal score)
In those latter cases, I would not use Parts, since they are aimed at instruments in an orchestra or a group. But YMMV🤷

Thank you, I will try it thoroughly in my next project.

Greeting,

I am trying to customise the beginnings of every flow.
Generally, I modify the first page manually and then try to create “FisrtFlow” template.
Many problems emerge. I will try to show them in short videos.

This is the first one. Is there a way to generate manually an “inner” text frame into a music frame and save the costume configuration as template ?

When we change the outer text frame, stave moves with it. That does not happen with the inner one.

Thanks for help.

Second problem,

When creating a second flow, no page number and we read grey “Flow Title”.

Creating customized “First Flow” template.
By “First Flow” I mean the first page of the the new flow.

New page template → Name : First Flow ; Based on : None ; Custom

As said above, I don’t see how to create an inner text frame inside the music frame.

Let us apply the template only the current page (FLow 2) :

We get :

I couldn’t understand how to add “First Flow” to the Page Template Sets, or how to use Page Template Sets properly.

Needless to say that this customisation do not “move” with the music, but remains assigned to the page. If any music is added at the end of a previous flow, it “pushes” next flows, and one should restart the whole process. Intuitively, I am trying to find a text processing software like ergonomy.

Thanks in advance for advice.

That gray text shows you that there are tokens there. You can make them show the appropriate values by adjusting these properties in Layout Options > Page Setup > Flows.

I’m not sure I understand the other things you’re trying to do. It sounds like you may just want to edit the flow heading template.
