Page Template Changes do not affect Layout / Red triangle

Hi all,

first of all, I messed up my page numbering, when I was adding pages in the very beginning. I tried to solve this by changing the page number ‘Insert Page Number Change’ on the right side. This caused some weird bugs, as some pages were just skipped.

So I deleted all page numbers in order to fix it. I tried to set it up again in the page template by changing it.

Now the changes of the page template do not affect my score. There should be a page numbering, but there is not.

Also the copyright should be displayed at the bottom of all pages and not only the first one.

Furthermore, here is also some red triangle, which seems odd to me. I do not know what it exactly means. ‘Remove Overwrite’ gets rid of the red triangle, but messes up my title page.

Can somebody help me fix this please?

That’s what the pages now look like. The first two pages should be title and information, music starts on page 3, which should start with the page number 1.

Thanks very much!

When you make a change to the frames directly on a page, it causes a page override, which is represented by the red triangle. Once a page has an override, it will no longer respond to changes to its underlying template. If you want to pick up changes from the templates, then you’ll need to remove those overrides.

At that point, if you need to recreate changes you made to a page, you should try to make them to the template instead.

For title and information pages, you can create a new blank template:

Use a page template change on the first page to assign this template, and then another page on the first page with music to assign the First template.

You can either then design your title and info pages directly on those pages (which will create page overrides, but since the underlying template is blank, you may not care about that), or you can create separate title and info templates, design the pages in the template designers, and then apply those templates to the appropriate places.

Here’s more information about what those symbols in the Pages panel mean.
