Page template variation

Hi everyone,

I’m reopening Dorico (just upgraded to 6.2 pro version) after a while so I could have missed something…

I’m trying to create a new Composer info page template (English version only) to substitute the existing one (italian+English) et the end of a project…

What I’ve done is to create a new page template based on the existing one but selecting custom type, as suggested in the manual, so it should be a ‘non linked’ one but when I close the new modified pt the old one is changed too…

What am I missing?

Thank you,

Art

IIRC the fields are linked, not the type fonts/styles.
One would have to delete and recreate the fields (using the same position and dimensions shown for the original fields in the Properties panel if one likes).

Thank you for answering, @Derrek .

What do you mean with IIRC? And with fields you mean frames?

Basically I would keep the frame structure unchanged while changing the contained text…

As an alternative Could I create a copy of the original page template set and changing it; does make sense?

IIRC = If I Remember Correctly

When you create a new template based on an existing one, the frames are linked, regardless of the Type. You need to choose “(none)” in order to get a non-linked template, but then of course you’re responsible for recreating all of the frames.

Thank you very much, @asherber.

I hoped I was doing something wrong because I remembered it was possible to ‘obtain’ a new template modifying an old one selecting the ‘custom’ option; evidently I was wrong… :man_shrugging:

Best,

Art
