So, as suggested by some members here after my last post a few months ago, I’m finally trying to create page templates for my instructional projects, but I don’t get how it works.
The problem I posted about last time is how I find it annoying that flow titles are embedded in the music frame in the default first page template (thus making it annoying to insert text frames before the first occurrence of music notation), so I tried to create a new template.
First I created this template set that I called Default Instructional.
Then I tried to modify the default first page for this set by inserting a text frame with the flow title token, then the master music frame is supposed to be below.
The result is not working completely, namely I do get the gap between the text frame and music frame, however the flow title doesn’t appear in the text frame and still appears in the music frame.
This is driving me mad
(Here are 2 screenshots attached)
There must be something I do wrong and/or don’t understand but I don’t get what…
Any help appreciated, many thanks !!
Ohh I checked and I was set like you on For all flows, I just tried in case the other two options and setting it on Never solved the problem, now it doesn’t appear in the music frame and it does in the first text frame.
Thanks !
If you need room between the flow title and the beginning of the music, simply create a Flow heading change (that would be in Engrave mode, right panel, use the context menu on the mini page) and don’t change the Flow heading template, simply change the Flow heading bottom margin ! Your music will start lower on the page, leaving you space to input some staff text or system text.
I tried that before but the first system was still being displayed on top and for whatever reason the gap to the flow title was not taken into account, I must have done something wrong (I tried to mess with the top margin as well and nothing was happening) ; but as on each flow it will be different anyway it’s much more simple to just drag/resize the frames from the template I made rather than calculate/estimate the correct margin.
Thanks for the suggestion though !
