Coming from (YEARS OF) Finale. I’m trying to complete a manuscript that is a collection of a bunch of 12 bar flows. I set up my desired layout of 3 frames per page, each frame with a header and a single flow by editing the “First” and “Default” templates. Great. The first two pages are how I want them, I see the first 6 flows- I need more, so, just add pages and assign flows to the frames, right?
When I add a page, I tell it to base it on the “Default” template, but it appears with the red triangle, and the frames aren’t the same as in the Template. If I right-click>remove overrides, it deletes the page. ???
How do I simply add more pages using the default template?
It would be useful perhaps to see a screenshot of the layout, but:
Generally, you don’t add pages. Enter the music, and then Dorico will lay it out accordingly.
If you want 3 Flows on a page, you can have them all within one Frame, and each flow with its own heading. Dorico will do this automatically. (Layout Options > Page Setup > Flows > “Allow on existing page”.
Absolutely not. Pages are added automatically as long as there is music to display. You set up your Page Templates with the Flows added to the Music Frames you want.
Hi @spencermusic
Just go in Engrave mode and click on Reset Layout.
This will eliminate the Frame and System breaks.
Then you can re-input the Frame brakes where desired (for example at the beginning of flow#4)
Also, as it seems, you edited the First page template as you desire, you don’t need anymore the inserted page template change (you can delete all overrides, or just remove page template changes with right click on the first page icon, in engrave mode)
