Pan on Track Controls is Reversed

Hi @Johnny_Moneto,

yes, and thanks for your valuable remark!
Only… one should also add: this was implemented with Cubase 15!

Since I’m constantly switching between Cubase 13 / 14 / 15 for my work, I was already wondering why I couldn’t always find that toggle option… haha.

I’d found (or “rediscovered”) that toggle option in Cubase 15, soon after my posting, and the default value seems to be “OFF”. And this is what I was referring to as a “slight inconsistency”.
But at least the toggle itself exists, which is great.

And now let’s imagine how nice and useful it might be, if a few more toggle switches like this one existed in a systematically grouped and easy-to-find seperate set of customization options within Preferences, for example for all existing faders, knob types and control areas, where the lack of such toggles “could” be experienced as a usability issue? Full control, once and for all?

:folded_hands:

Best,
Markus

Hi,

The this preferences don’t affect the left-right scrolling on my side (Mac).

Martin, for your report:
with a track pad everything is as you reported it also on Win 10.
With the mouse the direction is reversed when clicking and moving the panner from a field with characters. Here:

and here:

Clicking on the value bars does not exhibit the issue. Not in the Inspector nor in the track control.

In the channel (channel view and mixer) mouse click and drag works as expected everywhere.

Hi @Johnny_Moneto ,

I know. I’m talking just about the hover over the Panner and use the Apple TrackPad to scroll to the left and right. On the Audio/Group/FX/Input/Outputs channels, this moves in the other direction.

Yes, on Win 10 track pad - same same.

Confirmed

Win 10 CB 15.0.21

Volum and Pan moves in oposite directions when rolling track pad. Confusing!

Changes in Preferences doesn’t affect this.

If I recall correctly this issue must be present for some years already. Just checked in Cubase 12 - it is already there.

Cannot confirm Volume. That just works fine for me.

My bad english, Sorry!

I meant:

Volum goes the way it should, but Pan the oposite way.

just here to say that bug is still there and seems no one is soving it. adding a link to a video with this pan bug in case its unclear.

Hi,

Thank you for the video. Now, I can reproduce it. It happens only, if the Pan controller is in the collapsed state (so you can see just the text feedback).

Reported to Steinberg. Thank you!
