Pan snaps to left after render in place

Hey folks,
I’ve been living with this minor annoyance for years now, but I finally decided that I’ve had enough:

Whenever I render in place, the channel pan of the source track snaps to the left nearly every single time. If it’s a stereo combined panner, only the left pan would move; the right one stays in its position.

It does not affect the render, but whenever I need to return to the source, I have to remind myself to reset the pan to its original position.

As said, this phenomenon has been haunting me throughout the different versions of Nuendo (I’m on 14 now, so at least from v12). It could easily have been present before I crossgraded from Cubase Pro, but I’m not 100% certain about that.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I just rendered several tracks in place and did not experince this.

What are your render settings?

At the moment, this. I don’t see any connection with the render settings, as it’s completely random whether the pan will move or not.

I haven’t actually surveyed this, but I have the feeling it only occurs when the pan is off-centre.

Okay, that is not true, it’s just happened on a channel with the pan in centre. Also no inserts on the channel.

After render:

The next time it happens to you can you open the MixConsole, left zone → History
and check if the change of the pan setting was recorded there?
