PANORAMA in Multitap delay is not active - L/R features are not visible when using it in a FX

Hi There,

I’ve been experimenting with Multitap delay version 14.0.40.101 (Cubase Pro 14). Please note that I had used it as an insert on an FX channel. The signal to the FX channel is sent as following: a mono track –> SENDS –> FX Channel (pre F). After inserting some TAPs on the greed, under LEVEL I can move the TAPs horizontally in time, and also modify each TAP’s volume, and that’s OK. However, when pressing on PANORAMA, the vertical bars disappear, and I cannot see any UI at all related to L/R (no bars, no middle line, not written L/R etc.) - Hence, I cannot configure PANORAMA -the only thing I could modify under PANORAMA is the TAP’s time by moving them horizontally. Any idea why and how to fix? Appreciate your help!

Could it be related to a mono track sent to a FX stereo track (I had faced L/R issues also with the StereoDelay plugin)? - Please note that when the plugin is used directly on the track through INSERTS, it works fine.

Thank you Guys!

Where is the Effect Track routed to? A mono or a stereo channel?

Dear Johnny, thank you for your help,

I think I’ve figured it out: since inserts in Cubase are always pre-fader, when using any Steinberg plugin that relies on stereo processing (such as Ping-Pong Delay, Panorama, etc.), the plugin requires a track with both stereo input and stereo output in order for those stereo features to work.

Initially, I only considered the stereo output, without realizing that a stereo input is also essential.

As a solution, if you want to apply a stereo effect to a mono track, create a stereo FX track (while creating the track, make sure under “Configuration” it is STEREO), and insert the plugin there. Then, simply send the mono track to this FX track via the Sends section — and everything works perfectly.
