I have looked in a few places for an answer but cannot find it on all these pages, probably looking in the wrong place.

When I print out the parts of a short piece the music is very small, how can I enlarge it to make it easier to read?

See the Page Setup page of the Layout Options dialog: you need to increase the staff or rastral size. This video should help.
