The score consists of violin, viola, and piano. When creating the piano part, I want the part to begin from rehearsal mark 5, excluding the preceding empty bars. Do I need to delete the full score to achieve this?
What you could do is copy the music beginning at 5, create a new flow, paste it there and only use that new flow in that layout… You lose the synchronization with the full score but then you don’t need to delete anything in the full score. You also could split the flow at 5 if the full score allows it… this really depends on what you’re trying to achieve!

I have no idea what is the deep sense of doing that, but to accomplish this insert a frame break at figure 5 in the part and apply the First page template to the second page. Then print from second page. And if page numbers and the appearance on right/left pages matters insert a blank page at the beginning and adjust the page numbers.

If you want to be extra nice to your piano player, fill the first 8 bars with cues to the violin and viola music.
