Part Naming Issue

Ani Maamin Medley For Q.dorico (2.8 MB)

Probably something simple I’m missing

Flute & Alto Sax, parts correctly named

Clarinet and Tenor Sax, part refuses. Will only name Tenor. I believe I propagated the properties. To no avail. Can someone help?

If you want to change the name of the layout, go into Setup mode, right click the layout in the right-hand panel, and choose Rename.

That works. However, page 2 won’t have abbreviated name

Why do you think page two should have an abbreviated layout name? Where would you expect to see it on that page?

By default, Dorico page templates use the {@LayoutName@} token in page templates, and they only show the full layout name. This is currently how both of your part layouts are set up.

Correct. This is the solution. thanks. I’m bewildered that this did not happen automatically as it did with Fl/Alto

In your Flute & Alto Sax layout, the header on page 2 doesn’t show the abbreviated names either (because it is generated by the {@layoutname@} token, which doesn’t have an abbreviated form:

Or are you referring to something else?
