Parts-global vs. local

Rookie mistake. I have spent weeks manually adjusting items (dynamics, reh. letters, hairpins, sometimes barlines, etc.) in about half of the parts of a large score for wind band without understanding local vs. global changes. Now, I’ve discovered that the score that they’re pulled from is a complete mess. Is there any way to make all of the changes to the parts be only local and somehow to revert to a clean(er) version of the score? If not, any recommendations on how to resolve the issues I’ve created? Thank you.

Oops.I don’t know if all changes can be made local.

But maybe you can try to make something good out of a bad situation. After a few weeks you’re not a rookie anymore, and the Dorico way is to find Layout, Engraving and Notation options first that gives the style you want, only then to make manual changes.

I would make a copy of the project, reset all manual changes , and see if I could find the options that suits you. Hopefully afterwards you only have some manual changes to redo after that.

This post of @pianoleo shows how to reset those manual changes
