Paste articulations merges with existing articulations

Hi all

I corrected articulations in one part and pasted to several others. The target parts have both the correct and incorrect articulations. This isn’t paste but rather merge.

Am I missing something?

It’s more complicated than that because some articulations can coexist on a note (eg accent and staccato) others cannot (eg staccato and staccatissimo).

The safe route would be to delete the target originals before pasting the new set.

I get that but why can’t Dorico remove them before pasting?

Perhaps you want to keep some of them - I do frequently.

In which case a ‘merge articulations’ function would be exactly what you want.

But what if you just want to replace incorrect articulations in one part with the correct ones in another? I’d look for a function labelled something like ‘paste articulations’.

It wouldn’t be so much of a pain if there were a ‘remove articulations’ function.
