Pasting a bar adds unwanted

Hi,

Newbie using Dorico 5. I am creating lead sheets for a band. I want to copy the F Riff part [2 bars] from bar 9 & 10 and paste it into bars 16 and 17. When I do that, the slash eighth note stems are lowered and rests are added as seen in the after file in bars 13 and 15. See before [Into The Great Unknown] and after [ITGUafter]

Thanks

Hi,

Just select the two added rests (bars 13 & 15), Edit menu > Remove rests.

Just select bars 13-15 and Edit>Remove Rests.

Thanks. That did the trick!

I don’t know how to get rid of this red vertical line at bar 9 and what caused it. you can see it on either of the attached files. Thanks

It’s the insert mode stop bar (Insert mode actions before that point will not propagate beyond it).
It’s created (and removed) with shift-alt-I

thanks. doing a lot of reverse engineering
